You can buy a V60 in Lebanon from Ban Black, a specialty coffee roaster and brewing-equipment store in Zouk Mosbeh. Order online with cash on delivery anywhere in Lebanon, or visit the showroom and hold the dripper before you buy.
That is the short answer. The longer one matters more, because a V60 on its own does not make coffee. This guide explains what a V60 is, which size and material to choose, the four tools worth buying with it, and what to check before you pay.
What a V60 is
A V60 is a cone-shaped pour-over dripper. The walls meet at a 60-degree angle, which is where the name comes from. Spiral ribs run down the inside, and a single large opening sits at the bottom. A paper filter lines the cone, ground coffee goes in, and hot water is poured over it by hand. Gravity does the rest, and the coffee drips into a cup or server below.
It needs no electricity. In Lebanon that is not a small point. A V60, a stovetop kettle and a gas ring make a proper cup through any power cut.
“V60” is a design, not a single product
The V60 was designed by Hario in Japan, and the name belongs to them. The shape has since been made by many manufacturers, so the term is used for the cone itself. Ban Black carries unbranded V60-style drippers in several materials, alongside branded pour-over equipment from Timemore. Where a product comes from a named brand, the product page says so. Where it does not, it is an unbranded dripper that follows the standard V60 shape and takes standard V60 filters.
Choosing the size: 01 or 02
V60 drippers come in two common sizes. The 01 brews one to two cups. The 02 brews one to four. The 02 brews a single cup just as well as the 01, so unless you are certain you will only ever brew for yourself, the 02 is the more useful purchase. It costs little more and it will not limit you when there is a second person at the table.
Whichever you choose, the paper filters must match. A 02 dripper takes 02 filters. Mixing sizes is the most common mistake we see in the showroom, and it ruins the brew before the water is even poured.
Choosing the material
| Material | Good at | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Plastic | Light, very hard to break, holds heat well, the least expensive | Looks plain on the counter |
| Ceramic | Keeps the brew temperature stable once warm, looks good, lasts for years | Needs a rinse with hot water before every brew to warm it up |
| Glass | You can see the brew; Timemore’s Crystal Eye drippers are made this way | Handle with the same care as any glass |
| Metal | Unbreakable, ideal for travel or the office | Loses heat fastest, so pre-warm it |
Our recommendation for a first V60 is the ceramic 02 dripper. It is the one we hand to people who ask us the question in the title of this article. It brews for one or four, it holds its temperature through the pour, and with a hot-water rinse before each brew it gives the most consistent cup of the four materials.
If you prefer to watch the extraction, the Timemore Crystal Eye glass dripper is the branded alternative in the same 02 size.
The four tools to buy with it
A V60 is only the first piece. These four tools are what we consider essential for a V60 at home, and the reason a dripper bought on its own so often ends up in a cupboard.
1. A gooseneck kettle
The long, thin spout lets you pour slowly and exactly where you want the water to land. A normal kettle dumps water in a rush and the coffee tastes of it. A stovetop gooseneck works on gas and is unaffected by power cuts; an electric one with temperature control is more convenient when the power is on. Timemore’s Fish kettles come in both versions.
2. A coffee scale with a timer
Pour-over is a ratio of coffee to water measured in grams, poured over a set time. Without a scale you are guessing twice. A scale that reads to a tenth of a gram and has a built-in timer turns a good cup into a repeatable one.
3. A burr grinder
Coffee begins losing aroma within minutes of grinding, and a V60 is particularly unforgiving of uneven grounds. A burr grinder, manual or electric, produces even particles that extract at the same rate. A blade grinder does not, and no technique corrects for it.
4. A server
A glass server sits under the dripper and collects the whole brew, so the first drops and the last mix together before you pour. Brewing straight into a mug works for one cup, but a server is what makes the 02 size useful for two or more.
And the filters
Buy them with the dripper, in the matching size. Ban Black stocks V60 paper filters from Hario and from Timemore in the 02 size.
The coffee
A V60 shows the character of a coffee more clearly than almost any other brewer, which is a reason to buy it and a reason to feed it well. Ban Black roasts its own single origins and blends in Lebanon, so the beans you order were roasted here, recently, rather than shipped and shelved. If you do not grind at home yet, choose a grind for filter brewing when you order.
Before you buy: a short checklist
- Dripper size and filter size match. 02 with 02, 01 with 01.
- The kettle suits your kitchen. Stovetop for a gas ring, electric if you brew mostly when the power is on.
- The scale reads 0.1 g and has a timer. Kitchen scales that round to whole grams are not precise enough.
- The grinder has burrs, not blades. Manual burr grinders are the usual starting point.
- Fresh coffee is on the list. The equipment cannot fix stale beans.

Frequently asked questions
Is V60 a brand?
V60 is the name Hario gave its cone dripper. The shape is now made by many manufacturers and the term is used for the dripper type. Ban Black’s standard drippers are unbranded V60-style cones; branded pour-over equipment, such as Timemore, is labelled as such.
Which size should I buy, 01 or 02?
The 02. It brews one to four cups and handles a single cup just as well as the smaller 01.
Do I really need a gooseneck kettle?
Yes. Pour control is the whole technique of a V60, and a standard kettle cannot provide it.
Can I use any paper filter?
No. Use V60 filters in the size of your dripper. Flat-bottom or basket filters do not fit the cone.
Can I buy a V60 in person in Lebanon?
Yes, at the Ban Black showroom in Zouk Mosbeh. Online orders are delivered across Lebanon with cash on delivery.
